I found an excursion company who will put together an interesting day for our group of 8 while we are tendered from Celebrity Century on
Sept. 10th. But having heeded a warning from an experienced cruiser that rough seas often prohibit docking in Holyhead, I am concerned about booking a nonrefundable excursion for 8 people. The spokesperson for this company states that the likelihood of that happening in Sept. is rare, and tours must be paid in full 8 weeks in advance. Is this customary? It has been my experience in Italy, France and Croatia that a credit card holds the reservation, the tour was paid in cash at the end of the day and there would be no charge in the event of bad weather canceling the day at port. I don't know whether to accept these terms or not. Please advise.
