I am the trip leader for a group of 12 traveling aboard the Grand Princess from the last week of Sept. doing a Eastern Med.cruise. I have private tours scheduled for Dubrovonik (Kotor), Athens, Kusadasi, and Rhodes. I can use some advice on the remaining ones. We are too many to simply hop in a cab or rent a car, and 12 trying to board a local bus at the same time might be a problem. Any suggestions for private tours or suggestions of how to get to where we want to go on our own?
Corfu- drive to Paleokastritsa and Lakones Villages ?
Katakolon - Kourouta Beach?
Santorini - Oia?
Mykonos - island tour and swim at Platis Yialos?
Thanks,
Carol and friends

Corfu is VERY easy to rent cars right outside of port. If you drive you definitely want to see Paleokastitsa but, it doesn't take that long to get there via drive unless you want to hang out at the beach all day. Street signs unlike other Greek areas are VERY easy to follow. Near the monestary. If you are going to a beach go to the West side of the island. Best beach is Agis Gordis is a GREAT beach particularly for the younger. That is where the pink palace. St. Georges beach is also a beautiful area and has parasailing. Southwest side of the island. Downtown Corfu is also a short walk or taxi from the port and has alot of history as well as some fun cafes and shops. Hope this helps. Mouse Island was a disappointment in case someone pushes that.
Can't help with the other islands. sorry.

Addition to what I sent you is also go to Paleokastritsa first, then go to The Palace where they shot the James Bond movie "For your Eyes Only". Haven't been to Lakones Village so couldn't help you on that but, downtown shopping is also nice. The Liston is a nice place to sit and drink coffee or eat an ice cream and watch people with beautiful views. Remember, the shops during certain times close at 2 o'clock and open back at 5 although some days they do not open back up. Hope this helps.
