Tipping tour operators

Could anybody tell me what's the proper percentage to tip to drivers and/or guides
in a St. Petersburg shore excursion?
Is it customary to tip both in a car/van tour?

I don't know the exact amounts should be, but will share what I tip:
On a bus tour I usually tip the guide $2/person for full day tour and $1/person for half day. Driver 1/2 that amount.
Since a van has less people and more personal attention, I would adjust that upward.
I would like to hear what other people say about this? How much do you tip?

we like round numbers so for two days we gave $8 to guide and $2 to driver EACH. made a nice $100 tip for them.

If it's a private guide - then I tip on average 15% of the cost. If I'm in a group, then the $2/$1 formula is the general rule I tend to follow.

Are you suppose to tip if the tour is through the ship?? Ist time cruiser here!!

Tipping is a show of appreciation and is always a personal choice. Whether you book through the ship or on your own, there is no difference in regards to tipping. Best wishes.

I am new to this site and will be visiting Naples on the RCCL Voyager of the Sea in August. We are planning on doing a trip to Capri and Sorrento. Is it possible that we ferry to Capri from Naples then onto Sorrento and take the hydrofoil back to Naple pier directly from Sorrento? Is there enough time to do this? Oue ship docked from 7am to 7pm.
