We're going to Livorno via Rotterdam in April. Need yr adv. if Cinque Terre is worth to go from Livorno. If we join the private tour if the tour time is too tight to get back to the ship. I'm told Livorno's traffic is heavy. The ship will be at Livorno from 7 to 8 p.m.

The drive takes about 1 1/2 hours each way (the time varies depending on which town you make your destination). The traffic around Livorno is really not a big deal so that should not be a consideration. But only you can decide if its worth a 3 hour drive to go to Cinque Terre. That being said, time wise its not much further than driving to Florence which is where most on your fellow cruise passengers will spend their day. Personally, we enjoy the Cinque Terre area, but than we also enjoy Florence, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, etc. Its all about your personal preferences and nobody but you can make the decision.

You might want to consider doing a self tour. I have a document that discusses it. Cinque Terre on your own
Your port times make it possible. |
Thank you Hank and ftroute. Will review your information and idea. grace
