Cannes is a tender port and you will be dropped at the Old Port adjacent to a large car parking lot. From the tender pier you can walk almost anywhere in Cannes including along the famous waterfront and the shopping streets. Cannes also gives you easy access to the train line that spans the Riviera and its quite easy to go almost anywhere from Cannes all the way to Monte Carlo. You need to take a look at any tour book and read about the various Riviera towns such as Antibes and Nice. Personally, when we are in Cannes we often rent a car and drive ourselves to St Paul de Vence and other towns in the region.
