Would like to know how easy, or not, it is to take train from Livorno to Pisa. Thanks

Have not done it yet, but Hank and Ftroute and DrLivingston all claim it is easy. Look in this thread and read Hank's response to my questions.. at the end he discusses Florence and Pisa via the train. Livorno to Florence, Pisa is on that train route before Florence, so you can follow the same instructions but stop in Pisa.

It is easy. Hardest part is getting to the Livorno train station (#1 bus from Piazza Grande will do it.) Make certain you specify Pisa Centrale. You will be leaving from\returning to Livorno Centrale.

I have made considearble changes to an earlier document on travel from Florence from Livorno by train. It may be found here: Livorno to Florence by Italian Trains

ftroute-
Wow. What a great piece of info. Thank you!
We're hoping to take the train from Liv. to Firenze and back, stopping by Pisa in July. Our ship docks at 7:00AM, hope to catch the 9:11 to Flo.? Then catch the 3;27 or later to Pisa, taxi to tower. etc. and make it back to the ship by 7:00 or so. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike

Looks like a workable pan. I would not take a train later than 15:27 from Florence to Pisa. You are eating up a time buffer that you really want in place.
