As we continue to plan our dream vacation in June to the Mediterrean, we are wondering if it is advisable (read cheaper) to find your own airfares or go through the travel agency we're working with. The airfares right now are so high, but June is far away. AAA said it's cheaper just to let them do it. Any advice from previous cruisers to Europe.
Keep in mind the value of transfers that is included in the cruise line air. Your TA should compare the cruise line air to what they could get doing it separately. Most likely they will check with a consolidator for Europe. If booking your air separate from the cruise line then I would definitely fly in a day early.
Since you are a cruise fanatic moderator, how do I get New Cruiser taken off--I'm actually a Cruiser.
We are already staying after the cruise for five days, which has upped the airfare from the TA and we are thinking of flying in early to Rome, as otherwise, we will not be able to see ANY of Rome at all, so I guess that will up the airfare yet again. Right?
Your title under your name changes with the number of post you have. It has nothing to do with your cruise experience. Airfare is based mostly on availability at the time you book. Flying on weekends may increase the fare some, midweek is a little bit cheaper. So depending what day your post and pre are on, and the availability of seats on those days will determine the price.
