I am going to the below places this summer and I wondered whether anyone has any views about whether it would be worthwhile organising independant travel ashore or whether the ship's organised trips would be better. This is my second cruise and my wife and myself went on organised trips last time but we wondered whether it would be fairly easy to "do our own thing". Also can anyone help with the distance each port is from the main town?
We are starting out from Heraklion and visiting

Corfu
Cephalonia
Katakolon
