Yes, you will find most shops open. Great port!

Most shops are open, and when I was there last Sept they had a great flea market in the square close to Nyhavn...... Copenhagen is a GREAT city very easy to use public transportation, subway is beautiful and easy to use.

Here is a link to the Copenhagen cruise port map. On the right side above there ist the Free Port (right side is the Orient Pier)where the big cruise ships will stay. On the left side of the map there is the city. You may take a taxi. It is not very expensive. Have a nice cruise and nor rain in Copenhagen; and don´t forget to virit the little mermaid (there is a mark on the map)

Hello,

Copenhagen is a wonderful city. Highly recommended is the Resistance Museum in Churchillian Park. This is a fascinating museum which tells the story of Denmark's remarkable resistance to the Nazis during WWII. It is not very big so you can see the entire museum in about an hour and a half.

Also, do not miss Fredericksburg Castle which you reach via a 20 minute train ride and a short bus ride.

Also highly recommended in a canal tour on boats that leave from Nyhaven (this is a restaurant/hotels/shopping area in Copenhagen)

Be careful of the bicycle riders when you step off the bus.

Thanks to all for so much information! I can't wait to see Copenhagen, and I am really thankful for the tip on the Resistance Museum. That is something I surely won't miss. Thanks again!

Sorry Tom I was there 3 weeks ago and MOST of the shops are closed except the Souvenirs Shops. Maybe the others will be open later in the year but they were closed when I was there on May 14. Copenhagen is a beautiful city and so much to see in a short time. Have fun!
