Venice and gondulas?
 

We are going to take the Doge's Palace, St. Mark's and Glass showroom from the ship in Venice. When it is done, I want to know if we can hire a gondula ride from the dock area in Venice? Does anyone know how much it would be and if it is worth it?? Is it romantic?...it is our 30th Anniversary.......Thanks, amm

If this is your first time going of coarse it's worth it. It ran about 100 euros 2 years ago and that was per ride . If you are traveling with another couple you can split the cost. We went past Marco Polos home and Cassanovas and under the Rialto bridge. I would recomend buying a mask in town because they usually have a costume party that night; If you are really lucky the captain will park right in front of St Marks sguare and you won't need to catct a cab into town

The dock area is, well, the dock area; it would be much more romantic leaving from St. Marks's. We had a dusk departure time--it dosen't get any better . . . .and don't share.

some were fancier and docked in prime locations...charge 150 euros,,,,others ,,,less fancy and offbeat locations asked about 110 or so...at least last June...ask if they sing,,,and where,exactly they go and for how long...like a taxi,,,,can negotiate....but do go by yourself for anniversary,,,,regardless of price,,,DO TAKE ONE,,,at least once in life....congrats and have fun.....ps..most speak some english,,but nice to know a few words...like price,,etc...
