Default European Cruise
Thinking of cruising to Europe in October, 2014, wondering if that's a good time as far as the crowds and the weather. We heard that Venice tends to flood in the Fall. Does anyone know? Thanks.

There are no guarantees about Oct (we were in Europe just this past Oct). You might have wonderful weather or it can rain, rain, and more rain. Regarding Venice, we were in the city in late October and had perfect weather for 3 days. But a week earlier all it did was rain...and the following week they had more rain and lots of flooding.

I can tell you my thoughts, I went last year in June on Princess and then I went back in the end of July on Celebrity. It was so HOT, I would never do that again. I would go in May or Sept or Oct. To me it was so hot in June and the end of July that ran into Aug, I had a hard time with the heat, it never let up and for me took away some of the enjoyment.

I have to agree with janfred; we went the first time in late August/early July to celebrate an anniversary but not only was it very hot and humid but very crowded as many Europeans are on holiday at that time. We have since gone twice in April and May and it was entirely different.
