CURRENCY question

How have all you seasoned travelers handle all the different currency that would be necessary for all the different ports on a Baltic Cruise...denmark is different from Germany..from russia..etc? Have any of you found the ports to US currency?

Even though Euros are not the currency in all your ports, most places near the tourist 'beaten path' will accept them. Just be aware you might not get a great exchange rate. I'd use a credit card for most things, and not worry about having a lot of different currencies. Get some walking around money at a bank ATM. You probably already know this, but let your credit card company(s) know about the cruise. Having foreign transactions suddenly start showing up can trigger a fraud alert and suspended accounts.

We always get some local currency in advance. Not a lot, just enough to cover small purchases. We use a credit card for the rest (not that we make many large purchases overseas). I did note that rubles, U.S. dollars, and euro were accepted in tourist-oriented gift shops in Russia, although only rubles were accepted elsewhere in Russia, such as in the markets.

We also take a small amount of local currency we get before the trip
we usually do not buy much maybe a coffee & sanck
The private tour guides in Russia will take USD some will exchange for Rubles if you are buy lunch/snacks
In Murmansk they had an ATM by the gift shop ...so many that were buying things with cash used the ATM to get Rubles some used their credit cards

I have an account that is not at my regular bank it is used just for travel & I use the ATM's if I need more local currency
I keep a small amount in the account incase it gets scammed/skimmed/stolen
