Welcome to Cruise Chat. If you are looking for a Baltic Cruise that stops in Norway then Princess, Celebrity, and Holland America all would be good choices. If you are looking for an experience of just Norway by itself then Hurtigruten would be good.

Welcome to cruise-chat. Several of the mainstream lines, as well as Hurtigruten, also do an occasional western Norway/North Cape itinerary. We did one of Celebrity in 2007 and it was superb. What is it that interests you about Norway? Do you wish to go all the way to North Cape, or to spend more time in the fjords?

I found a review from a few years ago on our old Sealetter website. It is well written and perhaps still a bit relevant. Read it HERE

We may soon be able to add something valuable to this topic. We are soon leaving on a longer cruise (42 days) which includes cruising up along the Norwegian coast to north of the Artic Circle. Although there are many Baltic cruises that stop in Oslo (we like this city) not many cruises really explore Norway. Several cruise lines such as Holland American (that is the line we are using) and Princess do have 1 or 2 cruises a year that go along the Norwegian Coast and do some of the Fjords. These cruises are all in May and June. There is also the "Mail Boat" which is a coastal ship (yes, it does carry the mail) which offers many more opportunities to see Norway. The mail boat does have cabins and also functions as a cruise ship.

We are going to the top of Norway this July/Aug with Oceania so will be able to report back

It depends on what you want to see/do in Norway
we are only doing one fjord to Geiranger
we have been to Flam before but they are both spectacular

We went in June when the snow was melting

Here's a link to Hurtigruten - the coastal express line from Bergen to Kirkenes and back. In addition to a cruise ship, it is a normal passenger line which gives you an unique glimpse of the daily life along the coast of Norway. The ships are smaller than most cruise ships, but the standard is up to date

Hurtigruten

I looked into Hurtigruten ,but a little too "basic" for rooms, food, etc, plus it docks at many ports, but for just a short amount of time...have seen other sites where complaints about eating COD all the time, loud noise from constant stopping and starting,etc...
Oceania sounds like good option, loved last cruise with them, but Norway one seems too long..like 10 or so days...but thanks for info... options....
