Messina, Sicily

We are taking the Solstice and the first port is Messina, Sicily. I've read the post at it seems easy to self tour Taormina. Should I book transportation to and from port?

There is no need to book ahead of time. Public transportation (bus and/or train) is just a 10-15 minute walk from where you will dock. Easy to do and inexpensive too.
