we are going on our first cruise over xmas and new year to hawaii - we have our 11 year old daughter with us - can anyone tell us what may be best between fixed time or anytime dining - and maybe explain them more thoroughly - eg same food, same restaurants, how many to a table etc
Hello again, CNR; I believe I answered most of your questions on the Princess thread; but to finish up, yes, the menus are identical. There are four dining rooms; one for Traditional and three for Anytime (although they occasionally use one of the Anytime dining rooms for First Seating Traditional when there is a huge demand for it). The tables range in size from 2 to 10. If you choose Traditional you (or your travel agent) can request a particular size table. We find a table for 6 to be ideal. If you choose Anytime, you can call during the day and reserve a table for any number you want for any time you want. Or, you can just show up. If you are willing to share a table they can usually seat you immediately; if you want a particular size table, or a certain waiter, you may have to wait. They will give you a beeper and call you when your table is ready.
And you always have the option of having dinner in the Horizon Court--same menu, only Bistro style and much more casual than the main dining rooms; and the specialty restaurants (Sabatini's, the Steakhouse) which have a service charge).
Hope this helps.
