Would you folks consider a forum for those of us traveling with children?
As I get closer to the sailing date I find that I have many questions that are buried in the various threads.
Such as:
Do the arcade games take quarters? I don't think a 13 yr old with free reign on my debit card is a great thing.

I'm bringing along a friend's child. I have a passport and a notarized letter. Do I need anything else for excursions and such?

Is the penalty for tossing a child off the ship less in Haiti than in St. Thomas, or is it easier to just leave them on shore? http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo.../icon_razz.gif

What's the best way to keep track of a kid onboard? I'm sure everyone has walkie-talkies, and my DS will have his switched off. Do you pick a pre-planned meeting place and time? Can they call the room phone from the kid zone and is there a charge...

You get the idea.

Thanks for all your help

Marsha-

Not to leave you hanging here, but we are discussing it.

The issue I see with a dedicated kids section is that many questions are still going to be cruise line specific and we will still end up with the topics all over the place. But that could be remedied with a few posting "rules" for the new section that say to specify cruise line if need be....

We will let you know soon. In the mean time, does anyone else see that this would be a good addition?

I personaly think this would be a great idea. There are so many threads out there, sometimes it's hard to find exactly what your looking for in a short amount of time. Traveling with kids on a cruise is very importante and alot of topics and questions could be covered and answered.

If I were of the age with young children, I would find a specific forum easier to filter through than using the "find" feature. More cruisers are taking the little ones.

Just so everyone knows, we are discussing this request among the staff. We'll let you know.

We decided to open a new section that covers cruise questions for both children and families. You can access it here. In fact, I'll just move this thread there!

Thanks you guy!
You don't let the moss grow under you for a minute.
I promise I'll share any family friendly pearls of wisdom when I return. http://bestsmileys.com/thumbs/7.gif

You are quite welcome!

When a request is made, Dave is exceptional at asking the staff members for input. We discuss it and add our ideas about it. It usually doesn't take long to get a consensus. This comes from having a staff that works with a team mentality. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

I have just returned from an Alaskan cruise with my young family and created a highly informative website regarding cruising with young children. Please see http://www.lumuc.com/sapphireprincess/ for details. Hope you find this site useful.
