Default Age for Serenity deck on Carnival Sensation
Our 18 year old daughter will be cruising with us. She is not too crazy about hanging around a noisy pool with loud music and noisy kids (and I quote her). She does act quite mature for her age, and she would rather find a quiet place on the deck to work on her tan, read a book and listen to her iPod (with earpiece). Our travel agent told us that she could go to the Serenity deck on the back of the ship, but we see on the Carnival website that the age is 21. Does anyone know if Carnival is strict about keeping anyone under 21 off of Serenity? If so, any suggestions on a quiet relaxing spot on the deck for dear daughter?

I doubt she would have a problem. As for other areas; any of the higher decks toward the back of the ship. Not sure which ship you're on. Some ships have seating outside on the promenade deck which is quieter.

Thanks for the feedback. I will pass on the advice to her.
When I told her previously that she could not be on Serenity, she said, "I don't get to have any fun (meaning, be allowed there)". She also said, "I traveled all over Europe last summer, and was allowed to drink, but I can't drink on the ship because I'm only 18. I'm not one of these out of control persons. I'm responsible Dad!". I have a 21 yr old (son) that acts 15, and an 18 yr old (daughter) that acts mid 21 (and looks it). Might have to keep an eye on the boys, when she sports her bikinis.

Bubbabear.....So long as your daughter appears to be of adult age, refrains from mischievous behavior and stays away from alchoholic beverages I feel it would be unlikely she will be asked to leave the Serenity Area. Aboard the Sensation I believe the Serenity area is in the Stern (back) of the ship on the Promenade Deck.

Bon Voyage,
