September in Florida

I understand that around this time of the year through September, it is the hurricane season in Florida. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Flying in/out for cruising, it could cause a problem.

Hurrican season is actually June 1-November 30. Hurricanes are difficult to predict and even more difficult to plan around. Book as you normally would and just watch the weather channel.

For us here in South Florida a "normal" season is really mid-August to the end of Sept. Doesn't mean one will hit where you live....but you prepare...just like the cruiselines prepare for alternate routes need be! You can't live with the what-ifs we can't control. Life goes on and in the end it works out!

brneyes, that's another reason to fly in a day or two early, if your schedule permits.

Yes, that is true, especially for us who live in the "Midwest area", or where I am, Kansas City.

When tornado season comes, we "try" to be prepared.

LisaP yes, you are right, except for the position I have at work, no one wants to do my job. I work for a large company as the receptionist/switchboard, and it is HARD for anyone to cover for me while I am on vacation.

I "know" the people in Florida where I am going to stop first for a couple hours would love to "keep me", but then I "must" go on, if you get my drift?
