Third World

I am a new member of this August site and find it interesting, I think people should remeber that they are guest of the Country that they visit and if they have a doubt about the country, stay on the boat, The use of Third World is a perjorative and as people from all over the world have the ability to read this statement including people from the country that is being insulted, it may cause friction, as I am from England my definition of Third World Starts with,
No free Medication for Seniors, or people of low income low income.
No Free Health care
No quality Social Services.
Free Education to 18 yrs
People who can afford to Cruise should accept this as a priviledge and try to act as Ambassadors Kalo taxidi

Your "newness is quite obvious and you are not making many friends. You are entitled to your views and socialist agenda but your expectations of how people respond, think or believe is ridiculous and not relative to this forum. When you start telling people how they should act, or think you are setting yourself up to be blasted out of the water.

I don't take kindly to what is basically an insult on the people of the United States simply because we don't have socialized medicine.

If you want to maintain any credibility, keep it on cruising and don't insult people and cultures.

Steve, your posting has nothing to do with cruising and your values will be best served if they are kept to yourself.

While I don't subscribe to Steve's point of view, and I take it as an afront to the civilized world, aren't our values being stated repeatedly on this site? How to handle/monitor kids while on a cruise, how we wish parents would monitor their kid's activities more closely, how to smuggle booze onto the ship, whether alcohol is associated with and a precursor to, fun, how to dress for dinner, etc etc etc; these are just a few of the values expressed here. I know there have been others, but they escape me now.

Third world, under developed nation, emerging nation; call it what you will. The fact remains many of us come from a culture/society that has been industrialized. Many of the places cruise lines drop anchor are dependent upon our dollars/euros for their survival.

The third world is, well, the third world.
