Hi, I am just looking for advice from you experienced cruisers out there! (I have never been on a cruise before) I am looking at a cruise in July 2008 - around Italy and Dubovnik, possibly taking in Greece, for about 10-12 days, and would also like to consider a separate cruise to see the Fjords in Norway. What cruise ships do you recommend? Is it worth taking a cruise around Norway or better to do a separate tour and just do the cruise in the Mediterranean??

July in the Med can be very hot & lots of tourists
It depends on your age, what you want to spend you can choose from so many ships.
Norway is great...June is the best time I think, the water falls are spectacular.

I agree with Lyn re the Med. and Greece. We spent three weeks in Greece both on the mainland and island hopping in early October, which is almost the end of their tourist season. The weather was perfect and most of the students had returned to school.

If you have options I'd advise another month. And who would want to be visiting Greece right now?

You may be able to do both on a single cruise...look for repositioning cruises that include the Med and northern Europe.

Hope that this helps.
