I can speak about Carnival. Ir is free but customary to tip. Depending on the size of the order $2 is about right. I usually take some $2 bills for this.

They offer a selection of breakfast items and sandwiches. On Carnival get the Roast Beef $ Brie, YUM!!!!

On Carnival is just Room Service. They don't prioritize at all about the type of Cabin. First order in is first one out.

You can be in a 1A Bunkbed, and order at the same time as a Suite that ordered. The only Class of Service is First Class for all.

Coffee, Tea, Milk, juice are usually free, but you need to check the room service menu. Most lines have a limited room service options. Any soda or alcoholic drinks have a cost. One should always tip the person delivering room service. We usually do $2.00. My favorite room service experience is, waking up, rolling over to the phone and ordering a pot of coffee.... it's usually there within 5 minutes. Can't brew it myself that quickly. We budget $2.00 per day for morning coffee delivery.....

We do the same, I keep a stash of $1's to tip them. Coffee for 1 and Tea for 1. If you get a really good room service person they will ask if you want the order repeated the same time everyday.

I know this is the General Cruise Chat forum, but on Princess, and I assume other lines as well, you can put a card on the outside of your cabin door when you retire with your continental breakfast order and it will be delivered at the time you request.

So with that coffee you can have croissants, sweet rolls, juice, cereal and fruit. Not bad for a $2.00 tip.

It is the same on Carnival as well. They have the cards to hang for your request.
