Hi
We are trying to find a honeymoon cruise in early December. We want a traditional style ship - not a fun ship. Having lots of time together is important to us as is space. I have seen a Carribean cuise with Celebrity on the Century on 5th December. The deal we are looking at is a suite gaurantee (the butler service would make this very special). Does anyone have any suggestions on the gaurantee status (are we likely to get a suite that nobody else wants or might we get something very special). We are from Ireland and this is our first time cruising.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Mark

Hi Mark,
Welcome to cruise-chat and Congratulations!! Based on what you are looking for, I think you will be quite happy with Celebrity. Many people book a suite guarantee - so you aren't going to get stuck with one no one wants. The worst case scenario is you're assigned a Sky Suite (the lowest level of suite) - and all of them are quite nice. By booking a suite guarantee, you also have a chance of moving up to one of the Royal Suites (about twice the size of a Sky Suite). As there are only 2 Penthouse Suites, there is only a very, very slim chance that you will secure one of those - but one never knows. So, my initial recommendation would be to go with a suite guarantee - just make sure that it is a "suite guarantee" and not "Concierge Class guarantee" as they are two different things. A Concierge Class staterom is a standard ocean view stateroom with veranda - but added butler service. Don't get me wrong, the CC category is still quite nice - just may not be what you are counting on - if you are expecting a suite (with space). Of course, depending on price differential - if you really want one of the Royal Suites and would be disappointed with anything less - don't book a guarantee but book an assigned RS.

Hi Nancy
Thanks for your comments. I have a few other questions if anyone can help. We are cruising from Fort Lauderdale but due to flight times we are going to fly into Miami, does anyone know if there is any shuttles to Fort Lauderdale or how long it would take in a taxi.
Thanks for your help.
Mark.

Mark,
Super Shuttle (http://www.supershuttle.com) transports from the Miami airport to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. Cost will be about $25 per person. A taxi will run about $65 + tip and depending on traffic can take anywhere from about 40 minutes to over an hour.

We returned from Alaska this past late June on the Celebrity Mercury and the "worst case" scenario was the Sky Suite????? The stateroom was beautiful, the balcony almost as large as the room. We did not do the suite guarantee, because we chose the cabin. But regardless it is not the bottom of the barrel. The suite was wonderful, the pampering was absolutely the best. Celebrity we will continue to cruise with.
