Help! I'm looking for a transatlantic crossing in 2007 that will allow a passenger to smoke in one of the dining rooms! Passenger is adamant that he needs cigarette between courses of meal. I thought maybe one of the European lines might allow smoking in at least one dining rooms. Passenger also wants air carrier that allow smoking on flight to Europe. Told him I didn't think that existed but would check around. Help! Either reply here or send me an e=mail, journeys@neo.rr.com, if you have suggestions. Thank you.

Don't know of any such flights or cruises that allow smoking any longer. You client could always opt for a balcony room and have his/her dinner served on their balcony each evening. Good luck in your search!

On my last cruise in August one of the ladies at our table just simply stepped out of the dining room between dinner and dessert to have her cigarette.

I am only speaking to Carnival cruises. But you can't even step out of the dining room now. They use to have ashtray cans outside the entrance at the elevators. Now smoking is limited to outside starboard decks, casino, bars and your cabin.

Well, I don't think this passenger is going to be happy if he MUST smoke during dinner. None of the major cruise lines allow it. I also don't know of any airlines that allow smoking during flights anymore. (Expect maybe Nippon Airways, but that may have changed after 9/11 air security changes.

YEs, there are places on the ship that he can smoke to his hearts content, but not in the dinning room.
