rental cars vs tours

going on a eastern med cruise in Nov and was looking into renting our own car at ports instead of doing the tours. Thoughts?

Another advantage of a tour is the Tour Guide. The guides know a tremendous amount about each city you'll be visiting, can answer questions, etc.

It's not just transportation you're paying for when you book a tour. Unless you're very familiar with the place you're visiting, I recommend a tour.
