Hi Petrij, welcome to Cruise-Chat. I will be the odd one out on your question. I LOVE the Caribbean. There may not be a lot of history, but there is a LOT of beauty. Some of the best beaches are in the Caribbean, Trunk Bay, Grand Anse Beach, Seven Mile Beach, just to name a few. The major historical places, like Dave said, are in Mexico and there are some ruins in Belize. Some of the best snorkeling in the world is in the Caribbean. Not only would you get to visit America, but you'd also get to taste a bit of the island life. Most of them are Americanized, but there are a few left that have not been spoiled. St. Lucia is one of the most picturesque, but there are many more. Dominica has beauty and great snorkeling-Champagne Reef is awesome! I haven't done the Med for the same reason as you, the money to fly. It's more to fly than the cruise. The same for Tahiti and Australia, which one day I hope to be able to do. For history, the Med is much better. For beautiful beaches, great snorkeling, and a magnificent way of life, the Caribbean is my favorite. I love being on island time! I was born and raised in south Florida, it has changed totally and not for the better. You can't beat the weather in south Florida, but it's not a place I'd want to live now. Best wishes for your upcoming cruise and hope to hear one day you will try the Caribbean. A transatlantic is not a bad idea at all.
