Good Morning from Germany

Hubby and myself joining are on the Constellation X-mas cruise and I am desperately looking for nice dinner dresses for myself.

Unfortunately I am not size 12 anymore and over here in Germany it is very difficult to get anything nice that is 18-20.
Since I am off to a business trip in Dallas in about 2 weeks I was wondering if you could recommend a store or chain where I could have a look for nice dresses while I am over there.
Perhaps any weblinks as well?

Thanks in advance :-)

Silke from Frankfurt/Germany

Have you tried Macys.com and Dillards.com yet? I shopped the other day and they have some really nice formal dresses!

Dont know if they have it in Texas, but either Gottchalks or Herbergers. Mom and I got ours at Herbergers but we are in Minnesota. Have a great time!

In Dallas, go to Nordstrom or Neiman-Marcus. If you don't find something in either of those two I will be shocked. All of the ladies in my family drive there to do their "cruise shopping".

Nordstrom and Neiman's are very nice though pricey - depends on how much you want to spend. Northpark Mall at 75 and Northwest Hwy has lots of options including Macy's which is lower priced, as well as many high-end choices.

I'm in Houston but I went to David's Bridal a few weeks ago, they had a huge clearance rack of all sizes. I found me a dress for 59 that was regular 180. My best friend paid the same for hers also.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Is it possible to rent gowns and/or smokings directly on board of a ship? I heard rumors about it...

A nice sunday to all of you!

There are some good websites you can find nice dresses from as well.
Chadwicks & Roamans.

Good Luck & have a wonderful cruise.

I haven't tried to rent one, but have noticed dresses and/or tops that could be combined with black skirt or slacks for sale in the shops onboard.
