Someone told me I should bring along with me one empty suitcase, that way I have room to bring home things I buy while in Florida, on the boat, and on the islands. Do you think this is a good idea, is there really that much to buy while on the ship or islands? Have any of you had problems bringing things back home? Will they allow you to carry large items you may have bought on the plane with you and sit it in your lap? heard they don't. Should I bring a extra suitcase or not? advice please, leaving monday.

take a small collapable bag just incase you find thing to buy.
The airlines have regulations about what you can take on the plane so check with the airline you are using....all carry-ons must fit under the seat or in the overheads during take-off/landing

Just have to watch the weight. 50 pounds is all your suitcase should weigh. We never had a problem taking things home before, but now we will have to put more into our luggage because we can't carry on any liquids or gels. You're allowed two pieces of luggage per person so if you can, it wouldn't hurt to bring one empty or one with just a few light things in it.
