BIG RED BOAT II On The Block
May 23: BIG RED BOAT II (ex EUGENIO C, EUGENIO COSTA, EDINBURGH CASTLE) will be auctioned off in Freeport on Friday, June 13, 2003. More details to be announced.
It would seem unlikely that SEAWIND CROWN would be sold, what with the insane minimum bid of €16m... I guess this could well be the end of poor old BRB II as well. While a shred of hope could come from her SOLAS Method I status and also from a potential cheap price (unlike SEAWIND CROWN), I don't see much hope because of her engines which are both expensive to run and apparently in poor condition as we all know...
In December 2000 I saw BRB II at Nassau, along with OCEANBREEZE... Both ships' futures would appear to be in doubt today.
Meanwhile, what on earth is going on with the Barcelona port authorities? €16m is rather optimistic, to say the least
