Hi 1Sgt, welcome to Cruise-chat! We usually cruise in the October-December time frame, there for a while every Thanksgiving. Always have had wonderful weather, good seas (unless there's a storm they can't go around), and little rain. Have a wonderful cruise

Your welcome. Happy Cruising.
Just curious by your name 1sgt. Are you military? Dave Beers and I both have military backgrounds.
Thanks for your responses everyone. Yes, I retired last year from the USAF after 24 years. My last 8 years I was a First Sergeant. I really appreciate CCL's military discount. That's an awesome benefit. Dave, CF, what are your military backgrounds?
1Sgt my husband also retired from the USAF after 22 years. My father was retired AF also. The cruiselines offer some great discounts. Just remember you always have to fax in your DD214. We were booked on the Glory for this Nov. We received a suite for $950.00 pp which was regularly $1,315.00 pp. What a deal! Unfortunately our TA failed to tell us about faxing in the DD214. 3 months later I found out she was no longer working there and our rate had been changed to the standard rate. The ship was full and Carnival was not willing to do anything so we changed to the Valor. Our new TA told us about the 72 hr time limit and we complied.
The other cruiselines offer discounts too. Go to Vacationstogo.com and click on military discounts. Last year we got an awsome discount on a 11 day Hawaiian cruise for $250.00pp oceanview. You just have to watch their specials.
I was on the Legend last November for Thanksgiving, we had two days with some rather rough seas. We were on the way back from Costa Rica and had gusts uo to 60 MPH for about two days. They closed off all the upper decks due to the high wind. I would say about half the ship was in their cabins for most of that time.
I was not bothered aside from finding it hard to walk a straight line at times, and that was not due to alcohol.
