We are taking a 7 day cruise o Carnival in June. My kids will be 8.5 months and 4 years. I have tons of questions!

Is there a good guide book I can get that has tips to cruising with kids?

Is there somewhere I can find a general packing list?

I know the baby won't be allowed in the pools. Can I take a little blow up pool or something that we can use beside the pool to keep him entertained while his sister swims?

What about strollers? Should I take one?

We use cloth diapers, but will take disposable on the cruise. How many will I need to pack for 7 days?

Any other tips to traveling with little ones?

Thank you so much!

Hi we have seven kids but just recently took our three older ones(8,10 & 11) on a carnival cruise. We only use disposable diapers for our babies and a jumbo pack for the entire week ought to do you. On our ship there were lots of strollers and it seemed to move families with them to the front of the line when embarking, disembarking and getting off for excursions. There was a baby pool on the Carnival Glory that the smaller kids WERE allowed in. Camp Carnival started taking kids at age 2 but I know you can arrange for babysitting for a fee. I think it was $6 an hour and well worth every dollar at least once for some adult alone time. My kids LOVED Camp Carnival and there were so many FUN things for them to do~!
There were a few kids who were crying on our ship from rough seas. I would definitely ask your pediatrician what you can give them if that happens on yours. I took stuff but Bodine cannot being given to small children. They had high chairs in each dining room but Camp Carnival also had some nights when the kids could eat with them during dinner.
I don't know what kind of room you have but I hope it is a suite. The others are really small even with balconies and a smaller child will feel more comfortable with a little more room!
Good Luck! Bon Voyage

Thanks for the tip about the strollers. Maybe we'll take an umbrella stroller or something small.

We are travelling with 12 family members, so we'll have built in babysitters with the aunts and uncles. I really don't think I'd ever be comfortable leaving my baby (9 months at the time) with a babysitter I don't know really well. I am OK with my 4 year old going to Camp Carnival because she can communicate with us and tell us if she is not comfortable, etc.

Oh - also, thanks for the tip on talking to the pediatrician. Very good idea!
