New passports needed?

I was just on RCI's website and they said that none of our passports can expire within six months of our cruise termination date. Three of my childrens' passports expire in February of next year. Assuming I understand their terms correctly, does that mean all three of them need new passports or will they be alright?

If you leave in Dec the passport must be valid till JUNE 2007 ...if they expire in Feb 2007 ...you need to get new ones A.S.A.P.

Lyn,thank you for your help. I'll do that for my kids first thing tomorrow. There's so much going on at work right now, sometimes it drives me crazy! That's why sometimes I don't know what I am doing. Thank you for pointing this out. I can't wait for the cruise to come. I hope it will relax me!

It will be ok. The new requirements don't start untill 01-08-07

The passports still have to be valid for 6months after your return date...it is a regulation of other Countries not just the U.S.A.

When you copy and laminate the passport, do you copy the whole first two pages or just the page with picture? Sorry I asked too many questions.

Yes, I'd do the first two pages - the one with your photo and the one with your signature.

Hey LHT and All,

I was going by what Carnival and the Government said about this.

Carnival does not require a Passport at all during this time. So it would not matter about the 6 months rule if cruising to Caribbean or Mexico.

RCI's site says the same thing unless the itinerary extends beyond 12-31-06.

A Government issued ID and Original Birth Certificate, or Certified Copy is all that is required.

But is a good thing if you have Passports to get them current now.
