How To Protect Yourself and Loved Ones

There are first time cruisers and veteran cruisers here. I thought it would be cool to share some cruising safety tips. When traveling with teenagers, this is the most important thing I have learned:
-Establish a curfew and make ground rules just as if you were at home.

Also:
-Protect cabin key and cabin number.

Anyone else have tips?

I can think of many ways to protect myself. Unfortunately, without justifiable provocation, most of them would just land me with a felony conviction. That being said, consider the following tips:
Don't flash cash in ports or on the ship.
Always be aware of your surroundings.
Know where all exits are in a room.
Do NOT let unknown guys buy you multiple drinks.
Stay away from dark, uninhabited areas.
Unless convinced of someone's mental stability, do not exchange any personal information.
If someone says you look younger than you are and wants to see some ID to prove your claim, do not provide anything. (They are not looking for your birthdate.)
Do not leave your purse unattended while you stagger to the stage to sing some drunken karaoke version of Kelly Underwood.
Do not leave Carlos n Charlies with an inflatable phallic symbol adorning your cranium.
Never tell a foreign cab driver to "take me somewhere fun."
Do not put valuables in checked luggage unless you are willing to donate them to the Sticky Finger Felons Foundation.
Do not drink Jagermeister and red bull believing that the red bull will keep you awake and aware of your surroundings.
Last, and certainly not least, do NOT wear a thong or string bikini to the pool and not expect your picture to be all over the internet within 48hrs.
