Family Cruise ???????

I am afraid I need lots of help. Our family is planning on taking our first cruise in the summer of 2010. We will be celebrating a number of accomplishments!! At the time of our cruise our DD will be 14 and DS will be 8. Which cruise line and destination are good for a family, with children the age of our children. We would like a 7 night cruise. Any other information you could give me would be appreciated......

Your kids are great ages for just about all the 7 night destinations out there. Do you want the adventure and awesome scenery of Alaska? Do you prefer a more laid back, warmer, water activity based Caribbean cruise? Do you want the historic and exciting sightseeing of a European itinerary?

Most cruise lines have great kids' facilities and programs in the summer. The question of which cruise line, ship and itinerary is best for your particular family is not easily answered by people who don't know your likes, dislikes, expectations, and budget. You'll get people giving recommendations based on how their cruises were matched to their own set of parameters.

I encourage you to speak with a cruise specialist travel agent, who can ask important questions and match you to the right vacation for your special cruise.

I had only been on two cruise lines carnival and RCCl both are great.



But for me, If I had a big family with kids, RCCL is the best option,they have a lot of family activities on the ship, surfing, golf, ect. Carnival is a more active cruise line and my favorite, but it mostly a cruise line for Party people, they have a great kids program but is mostly depends on what do you want to do. If your looking for a 7 day cruise is a nice start.
welcome to this addiction once you try a cruise vacation there is no way you will be back to the hotel options...

I don't think that is true anymore. It depends on the time of year one goes, and is probably the same on both lines. I haven't seen any outrageous partying except during a Spring Break cruise.
