Our family was discussing what all there was to do on the ship last night and the kids (ok...and DH) want to know what the TV has to offer in the room. Are there games that you can play (Playstation type) or any movie channels? We are debating on bringing the PS2 Slim or the Portable DVD player since...with the 3yr old someone will be stuck in there during "nap" times and there may be other times that my older son may "get" to watch the younger one if DH and I "paint the town...well, boat...red". I know it's just more to bring on the boat...but we will already have the stuff in the car from our ride down from No. Calif. Just wanted to see if there were things already offered in the rooms.
Carnival Pride - September 30, 2007
So are you saying the movies that are playing are free of charge? And if so, are they fairly current movies? Or at least popular ones? Oh, and do you know if this applies to all cruise lines or just certain ones?
Past Cruises -
Rhapsody - Alaska - May 2010
Monarch - Bahamas - May 2009
Mariner - Western - May 2007
Mariner - Eastern - March 2008
On my first cruise 10 years ago, Sovereign of the Seas had an actual movie theater (2 of them to be exact). They were showing first run movies. I'm not 100% positive, but I believe they have faded them out in lieu of ice skating rinks and fancier shopping promendades. On Carnival Pride, movies were broadcast over the in-room t.v., but they were not first run movies. A'ndrea
On Princess, the movies are run in the room free of charge. Most of them are older movies, some were more recent. On Costa, you could pay for movies in the room. So it may well vary from line to line, but there will be something for them to watch in the room. Carnival, Costa, Princess, HAL, and RCI lines had a cartoon channel and a sports channel. I don't remember about the other lines movies. The only time we watch tv is when we're getting ready to go somewhere. Not sure at all about game hook-ups. Best wishes!
