Has anyone here used cruise.com? I've checked out several online travel agencies and cruise.com has the room we want, across from other family members who booked earlier with a different agency. I'm assuming that once an agency has a certain room that agency is the only one that can book the room. Is that correct?

Nope, if you see the cabin available you can book that cabin anywhere. The inventory you see on the various online agence sites is actually the cruise lines inventory. When agencies buy blocks they don't buy specific cabins. Everyone sells from the same pool of cabin inventory. You can book there or through the agency your family used or even through the cruise line direct. As long as that cabin is available you can book it anywhere you'd like.

Just be sure when you do to give the agency you book through your family members Bk'ing # also and request the cabins be cross referenced for dining. That way you'll all be assigned to the same table for dinner seatings.

Cheers, Neil

Thanks, Neil, that's just what I wanted to know. I'll use the agency I had hoped to use. Tha agent wasn't in today, so I was doing some research on the internet before I talked to her. Now, at least I know what the going rate is.

We booked through Cruise.com for our honeymoon cruise three years ago. The service was excellent, and everything went very smoothly. No problems at all. We were given the number to the travel agency to contact for any problems or questions, and they were very helpful also.
