does excitement lessen after many cruises

We leave on our 11th cruise in October and I'm as excited as ever.

This is a question that I think about often. After 15 cruises and one coming up in late October, I believe that the excitement does not lessen because I know that each cruise is different and will bring new experiences. Just when you think that you have seen it all there is something special for you to remember. On our last cruise we had an especially enjoyable water excursion out of Puerto Vallarta that included snorkling, kayaking, whale watching, walks on a truly lovely beach, unlimited food and drinks (and one of the most beautiful days that I have ever experienced in my 62 years).

The excitement never dies... in fact, although it never out-does the joy of the experience itself, sometimes the anticipation leading up the to cruise is a fun feeling in and of itself... I guess you could think of it as a "twist" on the old Cunard saying - "Getting There is Half the Fun" - though in this case, it's simply the time "getting there" to the cruise itself.

One thing that's further enhanced the excitement and fun for me and my family has been to be part of introducing the fun of a cruise to others. We brought friends on their first cruise in '03, and enjoyed seeing their reactions/fun (now they're hooked). Brought our kids for the first time in '04, and they're hooked too!!
