Thanks Ken, I love those things. On the "Dos and Don'ts" one our bartender from Glory was on there! They just showed those self leveling pool tables..Pretty neat.
Seems to me most of those shows on the Travel Channel lean toward RCCL and Disney ships! I've seen a few Carnival but thats pretty much it. Never seen any shows on Costa.
Costa is pretty small potatoes in the US/Canada market. Their bread and butter is Europe. I agree with Dave. Those who spend the ad money will be the ones on such shows.
They need to film some new ones. I've toured Freedom of the Seas with Samantha Brown 4 times now. Done the Radiance of the Seas in Alaska twice. Done the Disney cruise ships twice, and The World twice. I'm still trying to hit the lottery to have 5 mil in the bank so I can purchase a cabin on The World so I can tour her on my own. Even if I had 5 mil, I wouldn't spend $450,000 for a necklace. I just can't imagine that kind of spending.
I was on the Carnival Glory in November. And on the Cruising Do's and Don'ts show, they interviewed some of the Glory crew members: The Captain,Cruise Director,Hotel Director, Ship's Doctor. It was nice seeing them again.
Did anyone see that mini-series on the Travel Channel titled : "A Cruise Ship Is Reborn"? It was about the Sovereign of the Seas and it's multi-million dollar renovation. I cruised on the Sovereign on November 1st-4th of 2004. Just before it underwent those major renovations. It fact, they started on the renovations during my cruise. This was my first ever cruise. And just like with the Glory it was nice seeing the crew members again, (of course, only on the TV screen).
