big deposit to book a cruise

hi, i have noticed in a brochure that the
rhapsody of the sea is coming back to australia in 08-09 & they want $1,000 aussie $$$ to book a cruise per person, can anyone tell me why they want so much because if you book with p&o its only $200 p/p, even the princess line its only $400 p/p
i know you can take out insurance to cover yourself for cancellation
