Need to cruise badly

Looking to book another cruise here soon but not sailing till aug or sept. God why!!!!!!! I need a cruise bad! Might have to book one short one to wet my beak!

I was real close to booking a 3 or 4 day in March, but my hubby was ready to shoot me. It is just such a loooooooong time until next November. I forced him into 2 cruises this year, because I booked the second without telling him. I booked it and paid for it the same day, so he couldn't say no. He keeps telling me I'm addicted and I keep telling him there's no better way to go

We only have the Liberty Of The Seas cruise so far. I might book the venerable old Holiday again, since it is just a drive to Mobile and no air fare. Maybe I'll do it if I find a good long weekend that fits with our schedules. But I need to concentrate on getting to diamond status with RCCL too. After Liberty, I'll need two or three more cruises depending on the level of cabin we book.

I admire your spunk! My wife is just the opposite; she thinks I'm nuts because I have us booked on three cruises into early 2008. Imagine! wanting to take her away from cooking, cleaning, all that stuff.
Problem is, I live 30 minutes from San Pedro, so any cruise beginning or ending in, or round trip from L.A., I'M IN!
Keep on crusin'. Hope we cross paths some day.

If y'all keep on cruising Princess, we're bound to be on the same ship one day. LA is a long drive from Alabama, but it can be done. I wish we had more choices in Mobile, but Carnival is the only line so far to dock there. I like Carnival and would gladly get on board, however, I greatly prefer the Caribbean to Mexico (even though they consider Mexico part of the Caribbean). My poor hubby has no choice, I book and pay and he has to go. His idea of vacation is sitting in his recliner, remote in hand and me doing the work--not my idea of fun I really can relate to raffles!!

Dave, I have read your review on the Holiday, and living in Tennessee, it seems a great excuse for a short cruise! Our next major cruise will probably be meditterannean, but prices are just too cheap not to go before then! Do you like Holiday better than the Fantasy class ships and also, if you were to choose Holiday or Sovereign of Seas at the same price, which would it be? Also, whats your experience as far as best month to avoid being surrounded by a lot of kids on it? Thanks for your help!

The Fantasy class is really an enlarged version of the Holiday class - what you really get is more people. Although the Fantasy ships do have more bars and such. Between the Holiday and the Sovereign......it really depends on what I want from the cruise. But overall I'd have to say the Sovereign would win. Holiday is just so laid back, that it really is easy to unwind. But one has to have the right attitude or they will be disappointed since the ship is so old and has little to offer in the way of "innovations".

I would go on RCL Sovereign if for the same price. Because I want to try RCL, and is a way bigger and newer ship.

I just want to know when they will be the same price for the same run?

Thanks for the input! I don't really expect a lot out of a "short" cruise break other than for it to be warmer there than here! With Mobile being within driving distance, it does shed a diferent light on the choice however! Only been back from Triumph 3 weeks and already needing a quick fix! Ya'll have a great Christmas and an even better New Year!
