In Ft. Lauderdale, you can watch from underneath the 17th street causeway bridge. There is parking on both sides and you can walk down to the intracoastal waterway, where the water taxis land. It's on the north side of the causeway. You used to be able to get into the port, but not since 9/11. Best wishes!
