I was told that you can pre-purchase a card that will cover all alcoholic beverages on the cruise-Has anyone heard of this

No, I haven't heard of an offer like that. There are some cruise lines that are almost "all-inclusive" (the very upscale lines), but even those do not include all alcoholic drinks.

What ship will you be sailing on? There are some cruise lines that allow you to purchase a drink card, very similar to how the soda cards work. You pay up front and have a sticker placed on your seapass card. RC did it for a while, then discontinued the service. But, I have heard quite recently they reinstated the option. It is not cheap, however. (I believe it costs $50 a day).
