Charity Cruise

Hi all Cruise-Chat Members!

We are planning a Charity Cruise for next year for us to have a chance to get together and raise some funds for a good cause.

I want to do a poll to decide what charity we want to give to. I am asking for ideas and thoughts about this from every member of this Forum.

Will then put the most popular Ideas on a poll for the voting to decide the best.

Even if you can't go please give some ideas, as this represents us as a Forum.

I would suggest the International Red Cross;
it is non-denominational, has a fairly low level of administrative expenses, and hopefully, our cruise will include more than just Americans.

In all seriousness, though, International Red Cross sounds good to me, or any cancer foundation (lost both my folks to cancer during the last year within 6 months of each other).

I'm sorry, that sounds really selfish. I apologize. I, too, lost my dad to cancer.

penny3333, no need to apologize at all; that did not come across as selfish. It's clearly heavy on your heart and in your mind. I hope the treatments are being successful. You are in my prayers daily. You don't say much about it but but I think about you often. I am a five-year prostate cancer survivor and have a special place in my heart for anyone touched by this dreaded disease.

Thanks y'all. I don't say much, because it sucks and this is a place for fun/happy thoughts. I think what helps the most is looking at my old cruise pictures, praying I get to go on my next cruise, and sharing the enjoyment of others cruises. Sure brings a smile to my face and heart. Thanks again for being understanding!!
