Crazy Airfare price for springbreak 2009!

Hi, I'm ready to book our flight from Denver to Fort Lauderdale for our second cruise next March. We plan to fly in a day early on March 20 and fly back home on the same day we get off the ship(March 29). The price is pretty scary, will it go down little bit later? Should we wait? Thank you in advance for all your advice.

Chances are between now and next year there will be several sales. However; Spring break is a time you need to book early. You might want to compare what the cruise line wants for their airfare. If you get their hotel plan for the night before you won't have to pay a deviation fee. If you don't take their hotel plan then you will have to pay a deviation fee. So compare everything and see what works out best for you.

I couldn't agree with you more about the crazy prices for next March. I started watching for them as soon as we got back from our cruise this March and have booked already from Toronto for next March(around the beginning of April) and the prices have almost doubled since then. I'm just hoping the airline doesn't go broke or something between now and then because it's almost too expensive now. I think the whole gas price hike has made the fares jump, but if the airfares ever get into your range - jump on it.

Airfares aren't the only prices that are scary… thank's to oil prices going higher and higher. There is going to be a lot of people that just won't be able to afford to cruise like they did before.

Thanks everybody for your replies. I will check the airfare prices often! Hopefully I can get a good deal We are a family of six people and we have been waiting to cruise on Independence for the longest time and it would be a shame, if we had to cancel our cruise over the crazy airfare.

I see it's almost $400 per person from Denver to Ft. Lauderdale. Spring-break prices are crazy in general… I see that an inside cabin is over $1,000—OUCH!

Hi Sonny, we want to fly into Ft. Lauderdale non-stop the day before the cruise day(fear of losing luggage. Plus we want to get there early to check out the place!). I've checked with United Airlines. They wanted from $527-$895 per person! That is crazy! Now it's okay to have connecting flights to get home. But to fly out of FLL at 6 or 8:20 in the morning, that is impossible unless I stay another night there or pay $895 to fly home at 1:20 pm

I found a flight for 11:15AM but it's still $504. Yikes!

It varies. Easter is April 12th next year. Schools and Colleges could be having breaks starting in March through Easter week.
