I posed this same question in the NCL area of this site, and got a variety of conflicting answers. My thought is that if there is a particular beverage you want, and its not available on the ship, they should let you take it on board yourself. One thing that comes to mind is something both diet & caffeine free (such as soda). The cruise lines typically have one or the other, but not both in one beverage. If you think about it, if you can't tolerate caffeine or sugar, and you're not a drinker, there's not much on board that you can drink!
