Does anyone know if you can shop anywhere in the arrivals area at Miami airport. I am looking for a place to buy packs of soda (i.e. 12 cans of diet coke etc...)after arriving into the airport. Any help would be great...Thanks to all....

Just tell the cabbie to stop at a 7-11. It is not an uncommon request, and it runs the meter up too.

BTW, we prefer that the same question not be posted in multiple areas of the forum. Therefore I have closed the identical question you asked in the Carnival section.

Thanks for the info. Sorry about the multiple posting I'm new to this forum. Actually we have a shuttle to the hotel and then a shuttle to the port the next morning so there is no cabbie. We are thinking about taking a cab to the Mall of the Americas from our hotel which is about 6miles away about 10mins. I hope that won't be too expensive? Thanks again...

Dec2 - not trying to be smart, but the savings on buying a 12 pack of coke at a market really won't justify the extra cab fare and the extra trouble of packing it after you buy it. Your cabin steward will stock colas in your stateroom daily for $1.75 each. You are only charged for what you use, and there will also be a vending machine around the corner.

Oh. I see she is on the Triumph. I think that is the only ship that has that.

Now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing a coke machine on any other Carnival ships. Wonder why they picked the Triumph to be the sole recipient? LOL

Thanks so much for the info tncruiseman and cruise guru you make a really good point. It is because Carnival told us that we would be able to bring a reasonable amount of soda with us (about a 12 can pack each) and carry it on so we would not need to pack it. But you are right it might be more trouble than it is worth. So the Triumph has a vending machine, that's great! I also wonder why not on the others. We could have used one on the Spirit and Legend! Do you by any chance know how much the sodas are in the vending maching? Thanks so much to tncruiseman and the cruise guru...this website is great!

It might just be easier to purchase a few cans of soda where you are (in Montreal) and bring them with you. Just make sure to put them in your checked baggage (not your carry-ons) if Canada has the same liquid restrictions as the US for air travel.

No, they don't sell sodas by the case or pack inside Miami International Airport. At least they didn't when I used to work there years ago. I don't think much has changed in that regard.

It also might just be easier to purchase a Carnival Fountain Card while onboard the ship. That will allow you to be served unlimited amounts of soda.
