I just got through watching the Montel show about peoples' vacations going bad and a couple of them were on cruises. One lady got raped and a boy fell overboard. I know there are always going to be horror stories. I was just wondering if any of you have ever had a bad experience with your cruises? We have never been but are going next year on our first.

Thanks,
Linda

I feel a lot safer on a cruise than I do on the streets where I live. If you want to be scared, have your local police dept. give you there crime statistics.

Other than wanting to throw someone who went with us overboard because she drove me nuts, nope never had a problem. I love cruising and meeting new people. I would rather cruise than take a driving vacation where there is a much bigger chance of getting into an accident.

Remember the media loves to publish sensational stories - and the old adage, it's not news if it's a common occurrence! I haven't had trouble on any cruise I have taken, and have found them to be relaxing and fun vacations. And Greyson is right, statistically you're much more likely to be in an accident in a car than you are on a cruise!

Linda, we never had any troubles on our cruises. Cruising is safe. More safe than going by car.
Donīt worry, go cruising.
Regards
Uwe

Montel Williams show, hmmm I believe that as much as the National Enquirer. I haven't seen Elvis on board any of my cruises either.

Cruises can be safe but a lot of people forget they still need to keep a look-out on board ship also.
People seem to let their guard down ...lots of drinking & partys.
There are bad people that take cruises also.
Children are left on their own to ride the elevators and run around the ship ....pedophiles could be anywhere.
Just watch Dateline ...you don't know what they look like!

Yeppers, is true to keep your eyes open a bit. I know I posted this a while back but last year had two female scammers following me and a couple other guys around the casino and sitting beside me and not playing. I told the casino Host I had met earlier and she told me they were prolly up to no good waiting to see if I left my S&S card in the slot and trying to see my pin #. That was the 3rd day of noticing this. Casino Host found me the next day and said they had other complaints about them as well, and had security tell them if they weren't playing to stay out.

That was the closest thing to any trouble I have had. I am pretty comfortable on the ship.
