My husband reminded me of one adjustment to our packing routine. We now own Keen sandals, which are closed toe shoes, very comfortable for walking, and made to go in the water. We take those instead of Teva's, and can wear them to walk around town, too.
I did leave out of the list my water shoes. If I'm not doing any water activities I wear my tennis shoes while walking around on the islands. I wore the sandals on Key West while doing a lot of walking and ended up with a design sun burned on my feet.
I did better with the packing this time, only one suitcase, and a shared garment bag for a 7 day. I still had a bunch of shirts I didn't wear though. At least I am improving.
We could have used this info back in 2002.
Four couples all family went on a cruise and after sailing we found out our 25 year old niece had 12 pair of shoes for a 7 day cruise thats like almost 2 pair a day. It looks like the norm is 3 pair. We always took 3 pair but the last few times we cut back to 2 pair.
I bring 2 pair and wear 1 pair. I wear my tennies on board, bring a pair of dress shoes and a pair of water shoes. My hubby brings a pair of dress shoes, a pair of tennies, a pair of water shoes, and a pair of sandals.
