If you could design a cruiseship what would it have? I know that the actual cruiseship design process is far more complex than most people realize. But in a general sense, if you could design the ideal cruise ship what are some of the things (in a very general description) would this cruise ship include?
For example:
-What kind of restaurants would it have?
-What king of food?
-What kind or how many swimming pools would it have on the Lido deck?
-What kind of public areas would it have?
-What about the spas? gyms? bars?
These are just some items. If you saw something in particular you liked on one cruiseship make sure to include it in your ideal cruiseship of your design. For example: My cruiseship would have the same Royal Promenade I saw on the Mariner of the Seas.

It would be very interesting to hear everyone ideas about what the ideal cruise ship would be if they could design one.

We love the Thalasotherapy (sp) pool on the Celebrity Summit. I would include one of those (adults only) on my perfect ship.

It would be just like the Sun, Sea, and Dawn Princess with the Sanctuary added. It would serve the same food that we had on our first Sea Princess cruise when it was still under P&O, it was excellent. It would include the Black and Blue onion soup, though. The cabins would be the same size as the cabins on the Magica or Mediterranea. This would mean less cabins, but more space for the passengers. But the biggest thing is, I would be on it!

I'm with Penny; my ship would look just like Sea Princess but the cabins would be bigger and the balconies would be built out instead of recessed into the superstructure.
Oh, and the aft pool would be much bigger.

And each balcony cabin would have its own hot tub and still room for lounging.

Whatever it was, there would be enough pool space for everone to sit near it on a lounge chair.

You mean there would be need for pool attendants to monitor for "saving Loungers" ?
There goes the unemployment figures again.

I like the self-serve laundrymats since we usually take longer cruises and airlines don't let you take as much luggage. And although doing laundry may not seem exciting, it's usually a good place to meet and chat with other people.
