Return of the Fuel Surcharge???

I am saddened to note that Cunard has posted what I believe to be Fuel Surcharges for cruises out of NYC on the QM2....This does not bode well!!!

Cunard actually announced back on May 4th that they would establish fuel supplements on any new bookings that had departure dates of November 1st and beyond. Fortunately, no other cruise lines followed suit. I was surprised at the time because gas prices had been maintaining a lower cost. Hopefully, no new taxes will be placed on gas and prices will remain down. Funny how we now are conditioned to think that $2.50 a gallon is low.

Ours is currently in the $3.85 a gal range
About 1.02 a L

They base it on the Crude oil prices which is now over $80 a barrel
