i'm new to this board just a couple of questions

my wife and i are going on the rhapsody of the sea next week from sydney australia, its our first cruise with them and going by the brochure there are no laundry facilites, the cruise is only for 13 days, has anyone been on this ship
i have read some reveiws but no one has mentioned laundry facilities if they have them on board
we are new to cruising and if you book on line is it safe or is it better to go thru with a travel agent
also this chat room can you mention any ship

I have not been on this ship so cannot answer that question.

I am confused you stated you are going on the Rhapsody of the Seas next week, but then you asked if it is safe to book online or is it better to go thru a travel agent?? Have already booked this cruise?? If not then chances are slim to none that you will get a cabin at this late date. As far as booking online vs. travel agent, I personally always recommend that if you are a new cruiser then definetly find a cruise specialist travel agent. They are there to answer your questions and they actually work for you..so they are going to find you the best deals. Going online, if you are not familiar with the different categories, ships etc.. you could end up booking something you are not happy with.

Hi bkmw, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Sounds like a great cruise, but I too am a little confused about booking your cruise. If it is for future cruises, I agree that a cruise specialist is the best bet. Not only can they answer your questions, but they will get the best prices and will have your best interests covered. All the Royal ships I've been on (only 3) do not have laundry facilities, or I haven't seen them. I do know the Princess ships have them on some of their ships, at least the Sun, Sea, and Dawn do, those we've been on. I haven't been on the Rhapsody, however. Maybe SonnyV has and will know for sure. They do offer laundry service on board, and it's not that expensive. Yes, you are allowed to mention the ship you're on or have questions about. Actually, I think that there is a chance that bkmw may be able to book this cruise if its the one sailing on Oct 27th from Sydney.
Just had a quick look at the V2go site and they show insides,outsides & balconies all available.Cruise has about 8/9 days in New Zealand but prices exclude airfares and offer no discounts
It all seems very exciting with a last minute booking....if you go enjoy it

thank you for the answer,sorry about not explaining my self properly but this is all new to me, the cruise for next week is all paid so we are going , but i was enquiring about the online booking for future cruises if going thru a TA was better than doing it online

when i get from my cruise at the end of the month i can give you people an update

Hello bkmw...My family and I were recently on Rhapsody (December 2006 Western Caribbean out of Galveston) and I must say I envy your upcoming trip. It is a beautiful ship, and when combined with her crew, she has a great personality.

I have always done my cruise homework on the internet, and when I found the ship I wanted, I called Royal Caribbean and spoke directly to them on the phone.
